 Dess Perkins is a leading voice in human trafficking prevention, whose journey is rooted in deep resilience and community service. Her story—from her humble beginnings in Hawthorne, CA, to relocating and raising a family in Bakersfield, CA—underscores her sheer will and determination to give back.

Dess is the creator and lead facilitator of a Human Trafficking 101 on Human Trafficking. She transforms complex legal and psychological information into actionable, measurable workshops for institutions, schools, and community groups.

Dess specializes in providing solutions tailored to your organization’s needs:

• In-Person Workshops: She travels to deliver trauma-informed, expert-led training directly to your team, ensuring sensitive handling of critical topics like Trauma Bonds and Familial Trafficking.
• Live Virtual Training: She facilitates dynamic, interactive workshops via Zoom, making high-impact training accessible anywhere.
• Curriculum Licensing: Dess offers her complete, synchronized training system—the Human Trafficking 101 Facilitator’s Guide and PowerPoint Presentation—for organizations that want to license and deliver the program internally.

Dess’s commitment is grounded in extensive education: She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Child Development, a Master’s in Business, a Master’s in Educational Counseling with a PPS Credential, and a currently has a Certification in Education. She is the proud mother of five children and ten grandchildren.
